Bio

Elizabeth Koloski, 25, lives in Newtown, Pennsylvania. She graduated Tyler School of Art in 2019 with a BFA in Printmaking and received The Vivian Rosenberg Award for Tyler Outstanding Senior Thesis.

Artist Statement 

I have always had an interest in anatomy and in the human figure and am also intrigued by the smaller components that make us up. Trillions of living things - cells - work together to make us who we are. The complexity of humans and living things drive my artwork. I explore my interests in anatomy and biology through representations of microbiological and anatomical forms. I enjoy treating the components of the body as objects and landscapes. One of my preferred media is printmaking, especially woodblock and photolithography. I am drawn to variable editions specifically as they allow me to focus on creating a core image, but then they give me the freedom to experiment with different colors and textures in each print. The technical nature of printmaking allows me to combine my love for scientific processes and methods with my passion for creating art. With my work I hope to help bridge science and art making.

In addition to conceptual work, I enjoy illustration as well as drawing portraits and pets for people.
